Clinical Research Description
We are interested in the relationship between dietary long-chain fatty acids and colorectal cancer risk. Specifically, how the dietary ratio of arachidonic acid to eicosapentanoic acid alters prostaglandin PGE2 production and impacts colorectal cancer risk. Furthermore, we are investigating how genetic variants in endogenous long chain fatty acid synthesis impacts chronic inflammation and metabolic risk factors. We are studying environmental and health behavior factors which contribute to familial risk in individuals with a family history of colorectal cancer.
